As I am saying a sad farewell to what Manchester calls ‘Summer’, I am introducing some Autumn/Winter pieces into my wardrobe, and rediscovering old favourites. The change in season can be quite sudden and overwhelming, and you suddenly feel like you have no suitable clothing for the colder seasons, yet not enough money to have a full wardrobe makeover.
For this outfit I have found some great transitional pieces to take us into Autumn/Winter, that are super easy to style both up and down, and most importantly – super affordable! I can spend hours lusting over fashion bloggers’ designer jumpers and high-end jackets and winter boots online, but my bank account (unfortunately) does not allow for such luxury, and when I want to pick up quite a few new items to keep me warm during winter I will always look for more high-street, affordable items that allow me to stock up.
This roll-neck jumper and faux suede pencil skirt are actually from Primark! I can find Primark quite hit and miss most of the time, but sometimes you can just find the odd gem in there, and these two are exactly that. The skirt was just £10, and is perfect both as work-wear for the office, as well as day-time wear with a cosy jumper, or a night out with a cute vest. The jumper was under £10 and is super soft and cosy; they come in a few colours and I am already planning on picking up a few more.
When you have key pieces like this that are super affordable, you can really get creative with how you wear and accessorise them. I paired my outfit with my favourite Zara leather jacket, my High Quay sunnies and some Public Desire boots. Plain staples lend themselves well to great accessories and winter layering, so they are perfect for any occasion.
Do you have any great winter pieces in your wardrobe?
