Cheap Ways to Spruce Up Your Living Room

February 19, 2021

During the past year stuck at home, you might have felt the desire to spruce up your living space. I know I have. At the same time though, many of us have been budget conscious due to the impact of the past year.

No one wants to spend a fortune when things are a little uncertain, so I thought I’d share some cheaper options. These can have just as much impact on your home without stretching your bank balance beyond the comfort zone.

So in this post I’m sharing some simple and more affordable ways to keep your home switch up looking fabulous without breaking the bank.

A Quick Shift

The simplest way to achieve a fresh change is by moving your furniture around. Almost too obvious? It’s an easy option, yet one that you might not really have thought about as we often think it won’t really change that much.

There are some cases where you might find yourself limited; if you have a TV fitted to the wall, for example, but for other rooms or those with a TV stand you can easily shift the room around to give a new look. This can be done a few times a year to keep refreshing your room. If you’re planning on getting new furniture then this is the perfect time to have a play with your layout.

Even just moving smaller units or bookshelves to opposite ends of the room can change the feeling of the space if you’re used to a certain set up. A change is as good as a rest after all!

Vinyl Flooring

You may be thinking that putting down hardwood flooring in place of carpet is an expensive option, and often this is true. However there are cheaper alternatives if you want the aesthetic of the real thing but on a budget.

Karndean Da Vinci click vinyl flooring has become an industry favourite by interior designers, thanks to its perfectly replicated look of real hardwood (amongst other options). The floor also boasts various protective properties against stains, scratches and moisture; making it easy to clean and maintain.

Even the lowest price flooring alternatives cannot offer the same qualities as today’s vinyl products, so it could be a huge benefit to explore vinyl flooring.

Lampshades, Throws and Pillows

You can also achieve some amazing changes with something like a simple colour scheme change, using a couple of throw pillows or lampshades to change up the vibe of a room.

They are a relatively cheap option but the effect can have a big impact and feel like a transformation. You might even consider changing curtains and blinds if you want to change the lighting in the room, which can also make the space feel completely different.

No matter what you do to bring a little bit of freshness on a budget, items such as Karndean click vinyl flooring and a simple throw pillow change can boost your personal value and save you pennies where it matters.
