Living a Healthy Lifestyle
What do you think of when someone says ‘healthy lifestyle’? Maybe going to the gym and exercising, eating to fuel your body, minimising fast food, no smoking, reducing sugar, taking care of your skin? The list is pretty long, but one thing that is often pushed to the bottom of our priorities is sleep.
I always promote a healthy lifestyle; going to the gym and having a balanced diet of nutritious and delicious foods is something I love. I also have an abundance of skincare products to keep my skin healthy. That said, I am so busy balancing work, blogging, seeing family and friends, the gym – not to mention other things on my ‘to do’ list like house-hunting, cleaning, cooking, wedding planning. The list feels endless and the first thing that usually takes the hit is my sleep.

I always have the best intentions – a schedule for my evening that includes me reading for 30 minutes and being asleep before 11pm. The reality of that occurring is probably less than once a month!

My New Bedtime Routine
Since receiving my Benenox, it has really encouraged me to improve my bedtime routine. I tell myself on the daily that I will have an early night and turn my phone off at 10. Yet I still find myself working past 11. It’s much easier to set realistic targets you know you can achieve, rather than suddenly trying to completely change your routine.
My main goal is to stop working earlier, allowing me to wind down and sleep earlier too. However, I know this won’t always be possible, so aiming for about 3 nights a week is much more manageable. Supplementing my sleep with Benenox helps me to make the most of my new routine. It has also helped me with those nights that I may not get as much rest as I need by helping make the most of the rest that I do get.
Something else that definitely helps is making the process more enjoyable. Get yourself some nice PJs, climb into a freshly made bed and enjoy the process of relaxing and clearing your mind. I used to feel stressed and like I should actually be spending the time doing work. However, by taking this time for me and my body I find I’m more productive and motivated the following day.
