Four Different Decor Styles You Should Consider For Your Next Home Revamp

November 29, 2025

Planning to revamp your home’s decor is exciting. You have an opportunity to drastically change the look and feel of where you live, and there are so many different routes you could choose to go down.

Of course, the hardest part is making that decision. There are many factors that go into what sort of decor you should choose, from budget and personal tastes to the period and architecture of your home. To help you get started, this article will cover four interesting styles for you to ponder.

1. Scandinavian

The Scandinavians seem to get a lot of things right, and their passion for style is certainly one of them.

This type of decor is all about flooding the area with light and using muted or pastel colours for a bright, airy feel. It’s a minimalist sort of look, featuring a lot of creams and whites which are then accented with wood and plants.

The style can look both cosy and sophisticated at the same time, and it’s a firm favorite if you’re looking for something clean and low-maintenance.

2. Industrial

If you favor designs with a strong, raw, unfinished appearance, the industrial style is a great choice. You’ll see this type of decor in trendy stores, bars, and cafes all over the world – anywhere where there’s exposed brickwork and pipes mixed with concrete features and an open plan is emblematic of it.

Industrial furniture can look fantastic in the right setting, and while this look is harder to pull off overall, if you manage it, your home will be the envy of all your friends. It’s perfect for those who want a more contemporary feel for their home.

3. Modern Farmhouse

The modern farmhouse design has become extremely popular over the last few years, and it’s easy to see why. This look is all about bare beams, solid oak doors, and weathered floorboards; it’s something that looks effortlessly stylish.

Farmhouse decor aims to look as warm and inviting as possible, making use of natural light and featuring soft electric bulbs and lamps for the evenings (Edison bulbs are typically the go-to).

The style has become particularly popular in kitchens, but many people go the whole hog and decorate the entire house this way.

4. Bohemian

Bohemian, otherwise known as boho, aims to showcase a carefree, creative vibe. It cleverly merges several different styles and colors and utilizes layers to create rich textural detail.

This is a lived-in look, so it’s naturally very cozy, and people love it for the free rein it gives them over choosing pieces of furniture and decorative elements. It’s great for those who love personalizing every element of their home and who’d rather not fit into a specific box.

Wrapping Up

Hopefully, this article has inspired you to investigate the styles above and discover what resonates with you. If you’re struggling for choice, Pinterest is always a great bet for finding visual representations of whatever sort of decor you’re interested in. Have fun!
