Rihoas
Hey hey! So I recently discovered a fashion brand – Rihoas. They are relatively new to the scene and I have no idea where they’ve been hiding! Since they have so many gorge pieces and a bunch of my friends already follow them. I was lucky enough to pick out some pieces from them to do a little review, so I thought I’d share with you guys and hopefully introduce you to a new brand or some fun new styling ideas.
I love when brands have a cool story or idea behind it and how it began. And Rihoas is one of those! The inspiration for Rihoas comes from a long legacy of European cinema. The visual appeal, the beauty, the romance. The artistry of the female in all her complexity just blew the founders away. These female characters are the muses of Rihoas. Confident yet charming, elegant yet sexy, stylish yet unique. In 2021, a group of young people in Hong Kong saw these films and decided they’d like to recreate these images in fashion. They want to make styles we see in the movies. And that group of people became Rihoas.
The Pieces
The Silver Sequin Spaghetti Strap Mini Dress – £34.98
Look 1
First up we have this gorgeous silver sequin dress. I’m a mini dress girl through and through, and like a magpie, I’m always drawn towards sparkles. This dress is the perfect combo for me, plus it has a really flattering square neckline and adjustable spaghetti straps. Here I paired it with some black boots and bag. I’d wear this for a gig, dinner and drinks or a night out with the girls.
The Black Mandarin Collar Floral Cheongsam – £32.82
Look 2
I have been looking for a cheongsam or qipao dress for a while now. I find the shape so beautiful and unlike anything else. However this made my search quite a struggle! I couldn’t seem to find any that I liked or looked like they would be a nice for for me, anywhere. Rihoas to the rescue. Whilst browsing their pieces, this dress just jumped out at me. It has a gorgeously flattering silhouette, with neck detail, a small split at the bottom, and pretty bell-style sleeves. I paired this with black pointed heels, a slick bun and small bag for a more dressy look.
The White Collared Button Up Sleeveless Shirt – £24.23
The Khaki High Waisted Overlap Skort – £27.35
Look 3
Rihoas seem to be the answer to all my clothing searches recently, as I’d also been hunting for a flattering, sleeveless shirt as well as a cute skort. Et voila! Also the perfect match for a cute outfit. I was shopping with my NY trip this summer in mind, and these two pieces are definitely going in my suitcase. The shirt is super versatile as I can dress this up with a skirt or wide leg trousers, but in my head I was planning on adding a funky tie and maybe some jorts and cute sneakers for a daytime look. Same with the skort – a cute top and heels for a formal look, or oversized band tee for the daytime.
The Red V Neck Cutout Sleeveless Mini Dress – £28.14
Look 4
Last but by no means least, this show-stopping red dress. I have a more casual mini dress in a similar colour and I reach for it non-stop in summer. So this cute, slightly dressier version will definitely be a go-to for me. A bold dress makes for an easy outfit as its just one piece, accessories, and you’re good to go. I dressed this with chunky boots, a black hair bow and a bag. This outfit is dressy, but the boots make it a little more rough and ready. Also one of my fave things about this dress is that the cute sparkly bow is a pin, so you can remove if you like, or pin to something else!
I love adding accessories to make my looks a bit more put-together and personal. It’s a great way to make a look more ‘you’ if you aren’t quite feeling like the pieces are totally your vibe. I love the bow detail on this dress and the hair ribbon kind of tied those in, but added a little more something to take the fit to the next level for me! Gorge custom ribbons don’t only embellish your hairstyle, but you can also echo the colour and pattern of the dress or pull out extra details like I did.
Jewellery is another great way to do this. Custom necklaces can also help to add your personality to a look. Choose the right necklace length according to the neckline or collar of the dress. For example, a V-neck dress with a slender Y-shaped necklace or something that plays into the shape of the collar looks so put together and like the two items were made for each other. Alternatively, play around with stacking lots of jewellery if you like a bolder look!
Review
Honestly I was so impressed with Rihoas! Sometimes you have a weird feeling about a brand you don’t know or haven’t heard of, but they proved me wrong. All the pieces are gorgeous and definite keepers for me. The shirt and skort are definite new favourites in my rotation too as they are both super versatile. Rihoas regularly release beautiful new seasonal collections, and have fab sales too. You can get 20% off with my code LRR20.
