Mean Eyed Cat Manchester
Come in and sin! Mean-Eyed Cat is one of the newest additions to the Northern Quarter bar scene, and has quickly become a favourite of ours. It’s a Deep South-inspired dive bar and an ode to the rock ‘n’ roll legend Johnny Cash. It’s also home of the legendary Roll the Dice game. Roll a six and get your round for FREE!! You can also get other discounts even if you don’t roll a six. And most importantly, they offer free pizza with every drink until 9pm. Perfect for soaking up the cocktails! And if you aren’t based in Manchester, they do have branches in both Liverpool and Leeds too.
Plus, if you fancy a bit of a change of scenery, you can head downstairs to the Tiki Hideaway. This is a 1950’s inspired Polynesian paradise, serving up tiki classics and island inspired cocktails.
Review
I’ve been to Mean Eyed Cat a few times since it opened, some of these have been invites and some have been visits with Robbie or with a group of friends. If you know me then you’ll know I love a dive bar, so Mean Eyed Cat is my kinda place. Plus, the genius free pizzas and roll the dice games are even more reason to visit. The mini handmade pizzas are the perfect portion-size for when you get peckish whilst having some drinks, and considering they are free, they are actually super tasty. There’s a whole range of flavours and there’s no limit to how many you can have (as long as you’re ordering a drink and it’s pre-9pm) so you can definitely make your way through a few of these!
The cocktails are also super fun, but they aren’t just about the novelty glasses and garnishes, they are genuinely really delicious too. They also have a huge backbar of spirits and plenty of beers on tap, if you aren’t fancying a cocktail. I am also a lover of a tiki cocktail, so the hideaway downstairs is great too, but my favourite of the two has to be Mean Eyed Cat.
Head to their site here for more info, and head to the bar for good vibes, roll the dice games and free pizza.
