Aguulp
Aguulp was started by well-known musician and mental health advocate Stephen Manderson (aka Professor Green), businessman and former SAS soldier Kevin Godlington and TV personality and former Special Forces sergeant Jason Fox.
The Aguulp team believe that liquids, liposomes and legitimate absorption is how you make good health easy and accessible for everyone. Using innovative curated liquid formulas, Aguulp’s liposomal technology delivers absorption rates of up to 98%, allowing your body to quickly and efficiently get the nutrients you need, where you need them.
Conventional supplements have lower absorption rates than the figure you see on the pack, with some vitamins requiring fat for absorption and some vitamins interacting with each other, promoting or hindering absorption. This is where Aguulp’s liposomal technology changes the game.
Recovery Supplement
Aguulp offer a wide range of supplements, including immune support, recovery, sleep, gut, and brain. I decided to try the recovery supplement as I felt like this would be most beneficial to my lifestyle. It contains an energising blend of electrolytes and nutrients helps to revive and replenish, ensuring peak performance all day, everyday. The key ingredients are:
Electrolytes
One of Aguulp for Recovery’s key ingredients is sodium ascorbate. Sodium ascorbate is a form of Vitamin C and is a well-known electrolyte due to its levels of sodium. When you train, or party, you lose sodium through sweat which can lead to dehydration and muscle cramping. It is therefore very important to replenish your levels after exerting energy. Sodium ascorbate (Vitamin C) as a whole has also been shown to help with recovery and reduce the rest time between workouts by playing a big role in connective tissue repair. It is also an antioxidant that can help reduce the oxidative damage that exerting too much energy can do. Aside to this, it plays a big part in maintaining a strong immune system which can happen after putting too much strain on your body.
B Vitamins
Aguulp for Recovery doesn’t just contain one B-Vitamin. Each B-Vitamin has its own function, that’s why Aguulp for Recovery contains the entire complex.
Milk Thistle Extract
Derived from the silybum marianum (the milk thistle plant), milk thistle extract contains the active ingredient ‘silymarin’. This ingredient has powerful properties including antioxidant properties, anti-inflammatory and antiviral. Milk thistle is also well-known for its liver protecting properties and is often used to treat people with forms of liver damage which includes damage through alcohol consumption. It can also be used to help prevent decline in brain function through ageing, help protect bone health, lower blood sugar levels and can even be used to help treat acne through its anti-inflammatory properties.
Review
I actually have been really enjoying taking these little sachets of goodness. I tend to take supplements anyway and these are great as they combine a few of them together. The added bonus of electrolytes are also a win for me; I am a regular gym goer, so this helps with recovery. It’s nice to be able to take something that isn’t in tablet format too, as well as knowing that my body is absorbing the nutrients quicker and easier. They are also orange flavour, so a little sweet burst of citrus is much more palatable than swallowing a bunch of capsules. I have also noticed much quicker recovery from my gym sessions.
Included in each bag you get 30 sachets, and they retail at £40 per month. For a high-quality supplement that includes a range of ingredients I actually think this is great value. You also have the option to subscribe and save £5 per month, or order 3 months-worth and save £10. I think if you’re invested in looking after your mind and body health, and are willing to spend a little more on quality, then these are definitely worth trying. I’d actually like to try some of the other items in the range to see how they match up.
