Post Lockdown Plans

Who’s ready for some post lockdown plans? Now that lockdown restrictions are gradually starting to ease, the prospect of having friends and family over to visit in the summer is so exciting. Preparing for guests in your home is something you could start planning for in advance, so here are a few ideas to get you going.

Revamp Your Interior

You might want to do a few DIY jobs before you invite anyone over. (If you haven’t already ticked them all off during lockdown!) This could just include some low budget ideas to revamp areas of your home with a few new accessories or simply rearranging the furniture to accommodate more guests and create a fresh look.

Maintenance

Whilst the weather is still quite cold, now is a good time to check whether your air conditioning unit is working if you have one. It’s definitely better to know now whether you might need something like emergency ac repair before the hot weather arrives and your guests are too hot! It’s definitely better to get this checked and sorted whilst we are still having cooler days and it isn’t in use.

Accommodating Guests

If you have a spare bedroom you might want to consider setting this up for friends and family to stay over when restrictions ease, particularly if they are travelling to visit. I know a lot of people also use a second bedroom as a storage room, so it might be worth sorting through anything that has recently found a new home in the spare bedroom and tidy things up a bit. Creating a nice cosy guest bedroom for friends and family will be quite exciting and hopefully make a mundane task feel quite fun!

Flowers and Plants

You might want to freshen things up a bit with some new plants in your garden or interior. Flowers are always a great addition and provide a pop of colour, a lovely feature and a nice scent too! Flowers like Lilies and Orchids are vibrant in colour but also provide a fresh sweet aroma too.

Outdoor Seating

Garden furniture is definitely going to be an essential this year. If you haven’t got any outdoor furniture, now is the ideal opportunity to start shopping around for something. If you already have a perfectly suitable garden set, it might just need a good clean to freshen it up for guests. You might also want to get out other outdoor decor like garden lights and firepits, so that celebrations can continue late on into the night.
